Job Location:SaskatoonState/Province:SaskatchewanTelecon Design is looking for an energetic and career minded individual to take on the position of Design Technician with our growing team in Saskatoon. This full-time opportunity includes health benefits, company match RRSP plus opportunity for growth!The Design Technician is responsible to collect, analyze and organize basic engineering data. The Design Technician will then use the Engineering data to develop design layouts and all engineering documentation required for submission of completed functional design drawings by deadline.RESPONSIBILITIESLiaison with project coordinators/managers and facilitators to provide quality drawingsDevelop, create, recommend, design new drawings and standardize it for multi-site application;Include fix/edit in existing drawing to conform to the company’s current acceptable design standards;Create CAD drawings from concept to final design, drawn to scale, suitably detailed to convey the necessary information required for approval;Check and correct any mistakes within the drawings and complete drawings within prescribed time limit;Create new and innovative methods to improve the quality of company’s drawings and the drawing process;Interface with third party organizations as required;Any and all other duties as assigned in order to meet Company objectives.REQUIREMENTSCivil Engineering or Electrical diploma is preferred;1 - 2 years’ experience in civil or electrical engineering environment and field experience is an asset;1 - 2 years in a related field of telecommunications is an asset;Experience using or producing Municipal Engineering Drawings would be an asset;Telecommunications Experience, Auto-Cad, Utility Design an asset;Must be Proficient with AutoCAD Version 2004 or higher;Familiar with CSA standards, specifically CSA 22.Able to read site drawings;Have experience digitizing plans;Follow standard drawing and printing procedures as set out by the client;Abilities in planning and organizing to meet scheduled deadlines.Class 5 drivers license and clean abstract.ABOUT TELECON GROUPFounded in 1967, Telecon is Canada’s leading telecommunication network infrastructure services provider.
