We are always on the lookout for talented individuals to join our team.The Opportunity:The Saskatoon StarPhoenix is seeking a full-time Digital Editor who will lead our digital operations and strategy. Excellent leadership qualities and a knowledge of online news presentation are required, as well as the ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced multimedia news environment.Working in the StarPhoenix newsroom, the successful candidate will be expected to oversee the newspaper’s website, social media channels, newsletter strategy, daily analytics and other digital operations. Candidates must be familiar with emerging digital trends and opportunities and know how to leverage social media and digital platforms to break news and reach audiences.What you’ll do:

  • Management of the newsroom’s digital operations, including website, newsletters and social media channels.
  • Use of website analytics to inform newsroom decision making.
  • Innovating new ideas to bring stories, photos and video to audiences across digital platforms.
  • Acts as the digital lead for the newsroom in chain-wide meetings and training.
  • Training other newsroom employees on digital platforms and content management systems.
Who you are:
  • Experience at a daily news organization in a deadline-oriented environment.
  • Fluency in digital platforms, multimedia journalism and social media.
  • Ability to work quickly and independently, meet multiple deadlines, and make efficient decisions.
  • Ability to work constructively as part of a newsroom team.
