This position will be dedicated to the BHP Jansen site, working a 7 on 7 off schedule, camp accommodations a requirement.Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the daily activities of assigned construction crew(s)
  • Work with and assist Manager(s) and/or Project Manager(s) managing projects
  • Distributes work packages to crew leaders who then carry out their work in smaller crews, reporting back to the Project Manager
  • Establish methods to meet work schedules and coordinate required activities as per the scope and timeline of the project
  • Assist in planning project timelines, milestones, and deliverables using appropriate tools
  • Deliver mechanisms for tracking project progress and reporting to Manager(s) and/or Project Manager(s)
  • Resolve site issues as relevant to assigned work crew and establish measures to improve productivity
  • Coordinate and facilitate site crew meetings and attend in a leadership role
  • Ensure all safety incidents and near misses are accurately documented in a timely manner; communicate importance of this to work crew(s) and encourage safe work practices and behaviours
  • Ensure client satisfaction throughout all aspects of assigned jobs; work to resolve concerns or issues of the customer
  • Foster positive and long-term relationships with clients
  • Install new and maintain low and high voltage equipment
  • Work around energized power and control equipment
  • Determine appropriate selection of materials
  • Keep maintenance reports and documentation
  • Work in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications:
  • Journeyman Electrician Certificate, Red Seal Endorsement for 5+ years
  • Experienced in construction leadership/supervision, overseeing multiple staff/crews and projects
  • Experience/knowledge in greenfield and brownfield construction
  • Experience/knowledge in maintenance, brownfield/operating facility considered an asset
  • Experience with medium and high voltage considered an asset
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of materials and techniques of electrical construction
  • Possess strong Supervision and Leadership qualities
  • Ability to accurately analyze, assess and mitigate safety risks and concerns
  • Industrial facility safe work qualifications
  • Knowledge and familiarity of other trades’ and departments work requirements
  • Ability to complete work related documents accurately and efficiently
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
  • Must have a valid drivers license and able to maintain a clean abstract
