Job Description

Environmental Monitoring Service TechnicianWeather INnovations Consulting (WIN) is one of Canada’s leading agricultural insight consultancies and is passionate about agriculture and its future. We are currently looking for an Environmental Monitoring Service Technician (EMS Tech.) based in the province of Saskatchewan. This would be a work from home, permanent full-time position.The EMS Tech. will be responsible for the maintenance and installation of weather stations primarily throughout the rural agricultural areas of the province of Saskatchewan as well as occasional work within Alberta and Manitoba. The successful candidate will be trained to test, diagnose, repair and calibrate sensors, electronics and weather station communication equipment.The EMS Tech. is someone who is comfortable speaking with farmers and site cooperators as their main contact throughout the year but can also work independently and efficiently, servicing a large network of weather stations on a regular basis. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys road travel and overnight trips to visit monitoring sites. This position is best suited for someone who loves the outdoors and is capable of in the field, light to medium physical work.The successful candidate will be technically savvy with sound computer skills. He /She will preferably have a relevant technical degree or diploma in an associated field.The right candidate will become involved in other WIN projects and initiatives and will provide support and assistance to other WIN technicians, collectors, clients and researchers. This is an ideal full time, salaried position for a well organized individual with two to three years of technically related experience.About Weather Innovations Consulting LPWeather INnovations (WIN) is an agricultural software development company specializing in easy to use agronomic and decision-support tools for use at the farm level.
