Acadia is a team that offers growth opportunities, with high quality values in the busy Civil Construction Industry!Valuable people on a team are what matter for success to be our reality!-Learn more about us at https://acadiagrp.ca/who-we-are/Reporting to, the Supervisor, the Field Technician/Pump Operator tends, controls, or operates power driven, stationary or portable pumps and manifolds systems to transfer liquid materials to and from various vessels and processes. Employees will be employed by Acadia Pumping & DewateringRoles & Responsibilities

  • Monitors gauges and flow meters and inspects equipment to ensure that tank levels, temperatures, chemical amounts, and pressure are at specified levels, reporting abnormalities as necessary.
  • Records operating data such as products and quantities pumped, stocks used, gauging results, and operating times.
  • Communicates with other workers, using signals, radios, or telephones, to start and stop flows of materials or substances.
  • Plan movement of products through lines to processing, storage, and shipping units, utilizing knowledge of interconnections and capacities of pipelines, valve manifolds and pumps.
  • Reads operating schedules or instructions or receives verbal orders, in order to determine amounts to be pumped.
  • Cleans, lubricates, and repairs pumps and vessels, using hand tools and equipment.
  • Connects hoses and pipelines to pumps and vessels prior to material transfer, using hand tools.
  • Installation of well-points with rotary hollow stem bit.
Qualification Requirements
  • Minimum Grade 12 with 3 years experience.
  • Positive attitude and aptitude.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with accuracy.
  • Excellent written, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an active and dynamic environment.
