Job Description

CFS Saskatoon is looking for a Human Resources Generalist to join our growing team. If you are a relationship builder with a service orientation, we would love to meet you!The Human Resources Generalist, under the direction of the Executive Director, is primarily responsible for planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and evaluating all human resources functions. The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for overseeing personnel management, including the recruitment, performance review cycle, the compilation of wage information, employee benefits administration, HR policy development, employee relations and engagement, and compliance with company policies. This position will also work with the leadership team to determine staffing requirements for purposes of budgeting and recruitment planning. The Human Resources Generalist will act as a champion of our culture, organization, and team.Education and Experience

  • Degree or diploma in business administration, human resources management, or a related field required.
  • Certification in human resources management by a provincial governing body is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in a human resources specialist or generalist position.

Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis position description does not deal with every situation that may arise during employment. It is intended to reflect the core responsibilities and tasks of employment. The Human Resources Generalist will be assigned additional duties from time to time.Detailed duties will include but are not limited to:
  • Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate all human resources functions.
  • Oversee personnel management activities.
  • Assist Directors in determining staffing requirements and oversee the recruitment process.
  • Develop performance goals, metrics, and targets that are consistent with organizational goals.
  • Administer performance management in accordance with established procedures.
  • Plan human resources requirements in conjunction with the leadership team.
  • Ensure the employee performance review process is effective and completed.
  • Ensure people have clear expectations and are aware of those expectations.
  • Together with Directors determine areas of improvement for employees, providing additional training as needed.
  • Develop training programs that are based on organizational requirements and best practices.
  • Conduct workplace investigations and resolve any conflicts that arise among staff.
  • Ensure employees adhere to all health and safety regulations, including company policies.
  • Ensure that all employees comply with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
  • Handle employee complaints and incidents, including conflict resolution, accidents, health and safety concerns, work refusals, and investigations.
  • Participate in the organization’s Occupational Health & Safety Committee acting as employer co-chair.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to managers and employees on key workplace matters such as performance management, difficult conversations, employee relations, and employee development.
  • Administer the group benefits program.
  • With the support of the Director of Finance support the retirement savings programs when required. Be trained and able to process payroll as a backup to the finance department.

  • Perform other duties, from time to time, as requested by the Executive Director or Leadership Team
