Job Description

Looking for an opportunity to expand your HR career in an advisory role with a well-established and rapidly growing companyCP Distributors has a current opening for an ambitious Human Resources Generalist based out of the Saskatoon branch that will work closely with all our branches across Canada.CP Distributors is a trusted, value-added business partner in the construction industry and is dedicated to being the leading supplier of Commercial Doors, Frames, Finish Hardware and Specialties, Integrated Security Systems, and the service and installation of these products.The position is full-time and, for a highly motivated HR professional, has tremendous growth opportunities.Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, the Human Resources Generalist, will be responsible to:

  • Provide advisory consultation throughout CPD that is compliant with relevant legislation and adhere to appropriate regulations
  • Provide support and advisory in the implementation of all required and appropriate employment standards, policies, and procedures
  • Contribute to the capture and reporting of people analytics
  • Contribute to the People, Performance and Culture strategy execution
  • Responsible to support the employment lifecycle including workforce planning, talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, talent succession and development, and exits for the CPD workforce
  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers and supervisors on employee relations issues and challenges
  • Remain current with legislation and best practices across the organizational regions
  • Contribute to organization culture and upholds organizational values in the implementation and execution of all talent and culture practices and programs
  • Remain apprised of current trends in human resources and employee engagement to contribute to the pursuit of an engaged workforce
  • Support compensation process, including salary reviews, salary ranges, bonus reviews, and any off-cycle salary adjustments, as directed
  • Support benefits program as necessary in relation to employee inquiries and in support of talent acquisition and the onboarding of new hires
Your Experience:
  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, Human Resources, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of generalist experience in human resource management
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in private enterprise
  • Prior experience and knowledge of ATS and HRIS systems
  • CPHR and/or RPR designations considered a strong assets, but not required

  • General knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, recruitment, organization development, employee relations, employee engagement, and employee development
  • Great communication skills with an aptitude for excellence in providing proactive service across the business
  • Above average written and spoken communication skills
  • Engaging presentation skills
  • Competent conflict management and change management skills
  • Proven ability to practice and coach managers in the practice of high level of confidentiality
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Computer skills in a Microsoft Office environment
  • General knowledge and skills in Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
  • Dedicated to continuous personal and professional development
