Job Description

The Opportunity: An opening exists at the Saskatoon Book Fairs Branch for the position of Inventory Coordinator. The Inventory Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Distribution Manager in monitoring the ongoing activity and business volumes in order to prioritize and determine allocation of inventory.Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work with Distribution Manager to develop and maintain an inventory system.
  • Support the Inventory Team to provide insight and cross-training in other branches.
  • Perform regular review and analysis of inventory holdings at the branch level and ensure maximum turns and exit strategies based on defined aging.
  • Ensure all inventory movement and updates are completed within the AS400 system.
  • Communicate with head office / other branches regarding inventory status, stock transfers, stock shortage and excess.
  • Communicate and provide guidance to branch personnel on all matters affecting inventory.
  • Ensure all book fair cases are properly stocked according to schematics and profile grids, oversee preparation of all add-on modules.
  • Coordinate product pricing is completed in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for the generation of Salesforce reporting as it pertains to inventory. i.e. Module and Case Forecasting.
  • Create and provide inventory files as needed to be downloaded onto POS units.
  • Coordinating annual inventory count or other counts as required.
  • Communicate directly with the sales team to update and address inventory queries.
  • Collaborates with Corporate Product Team to communicate product initiatives related to inventory exit strategies.
  • Assist and participate in all Branch calls with the Sales Team.
  • Create and maintain all branch specific reporting for head office.
  • Work within the standards set by the Health & Safety policies. Observe all safety procedures and assist in maintaining a safe workplace.
  • Other duties/special projects as required.
Job Requirements:
  • Post-secondary diploma.
  • 1-3 years’ related experience.
  • Exceptional communication skills both written and oral in English.
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and multi task in a deadline driven environment.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Salesforce knowledge an asset.
  • Proficiency in AS400 mainframe systems would be an asset.
  • Flexibility to Travel.
