This role will cover many areas within information technology, with the primary focus on networking.Key Accountabilities:

• Provide fast, effective client support to staff in all locations across North America.
• Helping end users become more effective through casual and formal training.
• Holding on-call support responsibilities.
• Act as a team lead on areas such as network architecture, hardware deployment, machine imaging, patch management, mobile device management, and service desk.
• Identifying opportunities to improve systems, streamline process, performance and reliability.
• Ensure reliability, performance and integrity in supporting and maintaining The Star Groups technical infrastructure.

Key Attributes and Skills

• Mandatory knowledge of Cisco IOS and Meraki hardware and operating systems. This includes route/switch/firewall, voice and wireless technologies.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Server Operating Systems, server roles (active directory), and administration. Microsoft certification an asset.
• Good understanding of LAN/WAN/WLAN technologies, network design and management experience.
• Project Management skills.
• Maintain patch management for OS, software and firmware.
• Experience in supporting virtual and physical server environments running server virtualization (VMWare) including configure/deploy/maintain.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects on a regular basis.
• Strong Teamwork, Organizational, Collaboration, Interpersonal and Communication skills required.

Education and Experience:

• Graduate from a 2 year minimum post-secondary technology discipline or have equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 2 years of work experience in a technology related position.
• Knowledge and experience with Microsoft operating systems, Microsoft Azure, VMWare, and Cisco hardware.
• Cisco CCNA a strong asset.
• Proven troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growing company.
• Microsoft Azure experience in supporting cloud based architecture
