Risk Coordinator - Jansen ProjectLocation: Jansen Project, SaskatchewanRotation: 14/7Project: BHP Jansen Potash ProjectReports To: Project ManagerDate Posted: 6/23/2022Application Deadline: 7/23/2022Key Areas of Responsibility:The Risk Coordinator is accountable for the implementation, communication, maintenance, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the Cementation operations including all risk to health and safety, production, assets, finance, social and reputation.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implementation and management of the Risk Management Program at site.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders in executing the Risk Management Program at the Site level.
  • Utilize Critical Risk Management program to compliment the clients risk management programs
  • Lead formal risk assessments to identify all unwanted events and appropriate controls.
  • Support equipment related risk assessments to identify consequences that could result in a failure leading to harm to people, environment, and the assets.
  • Support the asset failure modes risk assessments to identify consequences that could result in a failure leading to harm to people, environment and assets.
  • Help define the critical controls for major hazards, major assets and equipment; establish managerial processes to monitor KPIs; report KPIs to the appropriate levels based on risk; act promptly to correct any deviations; audit process/records on critical controls
  • Establish critical control assurance process.
  • Develop and implement maintenance and monitoring systems for the Material Risk Management Program and support improvement of the program.
  • Work closely with the emergency response team to ensure effective emergency management processes at all levels.
  • Input documentation into internal and client document management systems
  • Promote and develop communication strategies for Risk Management Programs.
  • Maintain documentation of all risks.
  • Collaborate with the HSE, engineering, operations and maintenance groups.
  • Other such duties as may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Has no direct reports.
Pre-Employment Qualifications:
  • Pass pre-employment drug, alcohol and medical testing.
  • Minimum undergraduate degree in Science, Technical or Engineering Degree.
  • 5-7 years experience in Risk Management within Mining, Gas and Oil and/or similar fields.
  • Full Basic Underground Common Core.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
  • Provide timely, professional, and courteous interaction with all Cementation personnel and client representatives.
  • Experience with Risk Assessment programs like Bow Tie.
  • Able to effectively prioritize workload to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Proven ability to deal with confidential information.
  • Experience managing complex business issues by utilizing analytical, problem solving, negotiations and communication skills.
  • Experience developing cost and financial models.
  • Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills as well as presentation skills.
  • Computer literacy, including effective working skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required.
