Job Description

POSITION: Lead Hand (Driver) – FT HourlyREPORTS TO: Shift SupervisorLOCATED AT:Saskatoon, SKPAY:As per CBA OVERALL POSITION: Oversee and assist driver team, complete morning sort, assist tracing investigation and email enquiries, chat or call activities to ensure customer satisfaction with service and shipment inquiries consistent with DHL performance standards. Support OPS team with sorting,organizing and/or moving shipments when required.MAJOR ACTIVITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead team through workload distribution, GSOP and systems coaching.
  • Sort inbound volume to posted drivers routes as per their Business Agreement areas of coverage.
  • Support drivers with shipment data questions, IE: look up exceptions and redirect information.
  • Support on road, when approved by Supervisor, due to Customer escalation or priority needs from Sales team.
  • Support daily Dispatch of drivers and follow compliance and policy expectations.
  • Be the local “expert” for processes regarding SPARK, Sherloc, KPI review, Retail processes.
  • Support in online track and trace platforms and/or Network activities.
  • Support customer complaints effectively and professionally to increase customer satisfaction.
  • Move freight within the warehouse area as per agreed safety procedures.
  • Participate in the organization and clean-up of the warehouse area.
  • Participate in maintaining a safe and co-operative work environment.
  • Scan freight as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESULTS:
  • Meet company productivity targets.
  • Responsible for internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Handle shipments in a manner that minimizes damage.
  • Paperwork is 100% complete, accurate and on time.
  • Shipment processing complies 100% with Transport of Dangerous Goods requirements.
  • Follow policy and procedures as outlined by shift Supervisor.
  • Maintain a secure and safe working environment for all staff.
  • Comply with Collective Agreement.
  • Alert operations management of service and safety issues immediately as they occur.
  • Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ability to lift and carry parcels, up to and including 70 lbs per piece, throughout shift.
  • Must be a Canadian Citizen, or hold a Permanent Resident status to fulfill Transport Canada Security requirements
  • Meet security requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • General working knowledge of warehouse and driver functions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with the DHL operations system.
