Job Description

Limited Term Position in Accounting The Edwards School of Business at the University of Saskatchewan invites applications from qualified individuals for a Limited Term position at the rank of Instructor or Lecturer for an 18-month term in the Department of Accounting with an anticipated start date of January 1, 2023.The ideal candidate will have demonstrated passion for and experience in teaching accounting at the undergraduate and/or at the graduate level in a post-secondary institution in Canada and is willing to work in a collaborative, collegial environment where teaching expertise is highly valued.QualificationsConsistent with its goal of sustaining business school accreditation (AACSB), the Edwards School of Business will recruit those individuals whose academic training and/or professional activities clearly align with our accreditation standards.A Canadian professional accounting designation as well as a graduate degree in business is required for appointments at the rank of Lecturer. Prior teaching experience at the post-secondary/professional level is highly desirable. Candidates without a graduate degree in business but with a Canadian professional accounting designation and significant professional and/or teaching experience will also be considered and, if successful, will be appointed at the rank of Instructor. The Department is seeking candidates to teach in its undergraduate and potentially graduate program. The successful applicant will thus possess strong comprehensive technical in-depth knowledge of accounting concepts and standards as well as demonstrable effective communication skills. The teaching load will be up to 30 credit hours of courses per academic year (10 courses at 3 credit hours per course). Teaching responsibilities can commence with courses scheduled for the Winter 2023 Term starting January 1, 2023.Salary bands for this position are as follows: Lecturer: $83,150 to $123,458 and Instructor: $ 66,355 to $106,663.This position includes a comprehensive benefits package which includes dental, health and extended vision care plan; pension plan, life insurance (compulsory and voluntary), sick leave, travel insurance, death benefits, an employee assistance program, a professional expense allowance, and a flexible health and wellness spending program.Application Submission & Contact InformationInterested candidates must submit, via email, a cover letter outlining their suitability for the position advertised; detailed curriculum vitae; and evidence of prior teaching experience such as teaching evaluations.
