Job Description

To learn more about who we are, visit www.fcl.crs.What you’ll do:You will provide managerial and technical leadership to the Data Technologies & Support Services (DT&S) team, which is accountable for data services, operations and support delivered to FCL, CRS, CRC, and TGP. This role defines, establishes and/or supports alignment to IT governance processes and control models to improve accountability and practices for internal control and oversight. You will also be responsible for:

  • Providing leadership and guidance to establish and maintain the data technologies and support services for performance, reliability, quality, security, resiliency, and recoverability requirements.
  • The current data technology landscape includes: IIB ESB, CP4I (API Gateway), Informatica ETL, Teradata (EDW) and MicroStrategy (BI Reporting).
  • Establishing and tracking metrics to measure quality of service including measurement of established service levels (SLA/SLO).
  • Assignment of people on projects and allocation of resources (in general) to meet the demand for day-to-day operations (ref. key accountability above) with assessment of team member performance, providing input to (mentoring) and guiding team members to improve personal competencies with clearly defined objectives.
  • Tracking allocation of resources and adjusting according to priorities, project milestones, delivery deadlines, and special projects.
  • Strategic planning, anticipating future needs, driving consistency and standards into data technologies and services to rationalize and consolidate systems / platforms and solutions.
  • Maintaining productive relationships with internal customers, other business units, strategic partners, vendors, and third parties.
  • Reviewing requests from business units, review requests for proposal from external providers, review and revise contracts and statements of work.
  • Responding to and overseeing the resolution of situations to contain/mitigate function risk in accordance with established guidelines/procedures/practices.

  • You have a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • PMP, ISP or comparable designations would be considered an asset.
  • TOGAF, ITIL or similar certifications would be considered an asset.
  • 8+ years of relevant IT experience and a track record of career progression along with increasing level of responsibilities, including:
    • Minimum 5 years of Enterprise IT experience:
      • Direct people management
      • Platform management and Capacity Planning
      • Supporting Systems Integrations, DevOps, and DataOps
      • Release Management and Environment Management
      • Monitoring, HA, DR, and Business Continuity Planning
      • Incident management, problem determination, and root cause analysis
    • Minimum 3 years of experience:
      • Load-balancers e.g. F5, Job schedulers e.g. Control-M
      • Identity Access Management, Role Based Access Control (least privilege)
      • Security principles of Web Services, Messaging, Databases, File Transfer
      • Delivering / Operating data services for a retail business
    • Familiarity with supporting the following technologies is an asset:
      • Teradata and MicroStrategy; Supply Chain, POS, and HR systems
    • You’re familiar with Strong verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated technical leadership.
