Job Description

Ahead of the industry worldwide in emergency vehicle safety, cutting edge manufacturing processes and exceptional sales and service, Crestline is paving the way for the future with a continued array of industry innovations.Crestline is seeking a Material Handler/Market Assistant.The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the efficient physical movement of items within Crestline as well as to and from external vendors and customers.Some of the key activities of this role include:

  • Ensure the physical receiving (manually or via forklift) of items
  • Check for damaged items, document, and initiate replacement process as required
  • Ensure that inventory is put away in the assigned location in a timely manner
  • Pick parts for sales orders and ensure items are shipped in the manner requested and if no specific shipping instructions are given, choose the most efficient in terms of delivery and cost
  • Pick parts for production orders and ensure items ready to be delivered to the production line on time. Document and track missing items as required.
  • Review back-order list as required and work with buyers to expedite delivery
  • Upload and download cycle count sheets
  • Perform cycle counts as necessary
  • Organize and maintain inventory in a controlled manner and as directed
  • Retrieve and delivery materials to the line, document the material being issued
  • Perform regular stock checks
  • Inquire on outstanding purchase orders as necessary
  • Send tools out for repair/warranty as necessary
  • Coordinate pickup and delivery of materials or tools
  • Clean factory floor as required, and take active part in the companys 5S program
  • Cross train in “tugger” duties, including, "scrap route" twice daily
  • Run Kanban route at designed intervals
  • Store raw materials in the yard, and move materials into the shop and load machines as required
  • Move materials between work stations as required
  • Other duties per cross training matrix, and as assigned
The successful candidates will have:
  • Grade 12
  • Previous Shipping/Receiving experience is an asset
  • Forklift Operator Safety Training Course Certificate is an asset
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certificate is an asset
  • Organizational Skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Self-motivated
