Job Description

Pharmasave #422, located in Saskatoon-Central Avenue, SK is currently accepting resumes for one (1) part-time Pharmacy Student. This position is open to students pursuing their degree in Pharmacy (any year of study).

  • 16 hours per week.
  • Three (3) shifts per week.
  • The usual shifts will fall between the hours of 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm from Monday to Friday and 9:00 am to 2:00 pm or 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Saturdays.
  • There is also the possibility to pick up extra shifts during school breaks and holidays.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Receive a written prescription from customers.
  • Assemble prescription medications in compliance with the company standards of quality and productivity.
  • Loading dispensing trays for delivery, and fixing errors in packaging.
  • Locate the medication, select the prescription container, and count/pour the medication.
  • Ensure that the original container, prescription container contents, and label are checked and initialled by the pharmacist.
  • Preparing refills for pharmacists final checks, billing and refilling prescriptions, and compounding medications.
  • Keep all areas of the pharmacy clean, neat, and professional.
  • Maintain adequate stock of pharmacy supplies.
  • Answer the pharmacy telephone, except for the doctor’s line, which should be answered by a pharmacist. All doctors’ calls and inquiries regarding prescriptions, copies, drug information, and poisons, are to be referred to a pharmacist.
  • Assist with third-party billing.
  • Set up a schedule for outdated pharmaceuticals.
  • Assist with inventory control.
  • Assist with checking off and putting away pharmaceutical orders.
  • Maintain stocks of pamphlets/consumer information.
  • Maintain OTC/non-prescription sections, as designated.
QUALIFICATIONS AND PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Pharmacy Student (any year of study).
  • Kroll experience is an asset.
  • Excellent ability to work as part of a team or independently.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Professional image and proper grooming.
  • Professional attitude and ability to communicate well with customers and co-workers.
