Job Description

Principal HydrogeologistOUR COMPANY:Denison Mines Corp. (“Denison”) is a uranium exploration and development company with project interests inthe Athabasca Basin region of northern Saskatchewan and office operations based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.Denison is a public company listed on the NYSE American and TSX stock exchanges, and is also engaged inmine care and maintenance for decommissioned mine sites through its Closed Mines group based in Elliot Lake,Ontario. Denison’s flagship project is the Wheeler River Uranium Project (“Wheeler River”), which is locatedapproximately 35 km north-northeast of Cameco’s Key Lake Operation and 35 km southwest of Cameco’sMcArthur River Operation in the eastern portion of the Athabasca Basin. The Project is accessible by vehicle andis located about 5 km west of Highway 914.Wheeler River is the largest undeveloped uranium project in the eastern portion of the Athabasca Basin regionin northern Saskatchewan, Canada. A Pre-Feasibility Study (“PFS”) was completed in accordance with NI 43-101 in September 2018 highlighting the selection of the in-situ recovery (“ISR”) mining method for thedevelopment of the high-grade Phoenix deposit. On September 22, 2021 Denison announced the initiation of theFeasibility Study (“FS”) for the Project. Concurrently, Denison is also advancing the environmental assessment(“EA”) process which is a critical step to securing the approvals necessary to develop and operate a mine inCanada.With the advancement of the ISR mining method, the Project has the potential to be one of the lowest-cost andmost environmentally sustainable uranium mining operations in the world.Denison is building the Wheeler project development team and is looking to attract top candidates who want tobe a part of our ambitious development story.THE ROLE:The key objective of the Principal Hydrogeologist role is to provide technical expert leadership on ISR wellfielddevelopment, mine production planning and remediation strategies for the company’s properties and will leadongoing characterization of the regional groundwater system for Wheeler River, to ensure environmentalstewardship of the proposed mining method.This role will also require supporting the field data acquisition intended to calibrate and confirm regionalgroundwater models and ISR mining production models, and will support the ongoing Environmental Assessmentand the Feasibility Study for Wheeler River.The successful candidate will be instrumental in providing continuity and updates to the groundwater modelsintended to ensure technical accuracy during the detailed engineering phase, the licencing phase and ultimately,the construction, commissioning, start up and operation phase of the project.The position will act as a subject matter expert (“SME”) in their field of expertise in which a qualified person (“QP”)can rely on as defined by NI 43-101. As the Project evolves the position may act as a QP for their given functionalarea.This role will be based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The role will require occasional travel to the projectsite located in the Athabasca Basin.The successful candidate will be required to follow Denisons health and safety policies and procedures,including the Covid-19 Work Safe plan, and the Company’s Covid-19 vaccination protocol. All currentstaff and any visitors who will attend at Denison’s offices, warehouses, field sites and operations arerequired to be vaccinated. New staff will be required to be fully vaccinated at their commencement ofemployment and/or prior to attending any facilities.Principal HydrogeologistThis role is being offered as a full-time position. You have strong leadership andcommunication skills with a demonstrated ability to work in a team environment. You are a well-roundedcandidate with a solid track record overcoming challenges and delivering successful results. In addition, youhave:

  • Bachelors, Masters or PhD degree in geology, hydrogeology, geochemistry, geological
engineering, or other related discipline along with a minimum of10 years’ relevant experience
  • A professional designation in good standing with a recognized professional organization and/ or
are eligible for registration is highly valued
  • Advanced groundwater flow and transport modelling experience
  • Advanced knowledge in geophysics
  • Field data acquisition and numerical model calibration
  • Mining operations / consulting engineering / environmental experience
  • Demonstrates health, safety and environmental leadership
  • Great interpersonal skills combined with a positive, team-oriented attitude, and excellent written
and verbal communication skillsYOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Development, reviews, calibration, and validation of advanced groundwater flows and transport
models to support the detailed engineering process
  • Develop and maintain owners’ hydrogeological models and supporting database
  • Field data acquisition to support groundwater models including planning, execution, reporting and
post processing
  • Onsite presence required during the field data acquisition phase including mentoring of junior staff,
contractors as well as troubleshooting of data acquisition systems
  • Prepare technical reports, budgets and other presentations
  • Prepare documentation to define engineering design specifications and criteria to support the
procurement process.
  • Support the development of a groundwater monitoring program to meet regulatory commitments
  • Collaborate and work effectively with internal departments including: Environment, Safety, HR,
Accounting, Procurement, Investor relations and other functional groups
  • Liaise with external groups such as consultants and contractors as required
  • Support Denison’s Health, Safety and Environmental procedures, policies and culture
