Come and be a part of this success.About PotashBHP’s Jansen Potash Project located approximately 140 km east of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan is BHP’s first and most advanced potash project. Jansen will add diversity and a Canadian presence to BHP’s global portfolio. Jansen’s large resource endowment provides the opportunity to develop it in stages, with anticipated initial capacity of 4.35 Mtpa. The BHP Board has recently sanctioned Jansen Project (Stage 1), with a US $5.7 billion investment. The project is now entering the construction phase, with the first potash expected in 2027.PurposeThe Principal, Maintenance Standardized Work - Underground Mechanical provides governance and assurance to 3rd Party Job Plan/Work Instruction and Energy Isolation Plans development activities. Additionally, this role serves to ensure synergy between the Jansen final design and equipment maintainability and reliability owner requirements.About the RoleIn this role, you will:

  • For the Jansen Underground area, provide governance and assurance of 3rd Party development of:
    • Preventive Maintenance Job Plans/Work Instructions
    • Corrective Maintenance Work Instructions
    • Energy Isolation plans
  • Assist a team of consultants to keep the schedule and associated reporting platforms up to date on a weekly basis
  • Compile Maintenance Readiness progress and updates for all project monthly/quarterly/annual reports
  • Govern the adoption of Operation Readiness maintenance functional requirements into the Jansen Facility design via formal and informal design reviews for Jansen Underground Mine (excluding electrical and structural)
  • Lead Maintenance specific design reviews with Maintenance Readiness team members and ensure all findings/issues are appropriately documented and managed to completion.
  • Actively engage with other Maintenance Readiness upstream and downstream stakeholders and workstreams, namely:
    • Equipment strategy & Master data
    • Spares Management
    • Service Management
    • Maintenance Management Standards and procedure
    • Reliability and Maintenance digitalisation
    • Program Management/ Integration
    • Transition to Operations
About the Role (contd)
  • Engage with project engineering and vendors to understand equipment maintainability provisions and Operations and Maintenance manual data availability to complete work instructions as per Owner Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) instructions
  • Review vendor maintenance related documents and ensure documents are available in accordance with the maintenance job plan/work instruction development schedule.
  • Assist with workload balance and deliverable quality assessment activities between BHP Maintenance Readiness and associated 3rd Party support contractor teams within budget and schedule forecast
  • Actively participate in the development of the “transition to operations” plan in terms of work instructions training, team formation and role competency, training, tools, shops and logistics readiness
  • Carry out other relevant tasks within the bounds of work instruction scope and/or overall Maintenance Readiness delivery
About YouRequired:
  • Multiple years of operational industrial facility experience in maintenance execution (supervision and planning or maintenance activity related continuous improvement)
  • Experience in job plan/work instruction development
  • Extensive team management and facilitation experience to deliver results on time and budget
  • Experience in the application of workplace safety standards
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) master data development standards and rules
  • Exposure to LEAN, work efficiency principles
  • Proficiency in online collaboration platforms (WebEx Teams, Microsoft Teams, etc.) and Office 365 applications such as Word, Excel and SharePoint
  • Management of budgeting, cost control and continuous improvement
Recommended:
  • Demonstrable experience in using potash or mineral industry related equipment
  • Exposure to equipment criticality assessment activities and outcomes
  • Experience in input to design activities in Greenfield or Brownfield engineering projects
  • Exposure to Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) based maintenance strategy development, Energy Isolation Plan development, continuous improvement and Root Cause Analysis methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Management of Change principles.
  • Evident skills in Equipment Condition Based monitoring, Precision Maintenance tactics, and Spares and Materials Management
  • Experience in Asset Performance Management systems and navigating 3D model environments
