The project is expected to produce 4.35 million tonnes of potash per year with initial production targeted for 2027, ramping up to full production over two years. Jansen potash project is located approximately 140 km southeast of Saskatoon. Potash opens a new front for growth and is an expandable resource that can support a century or more of operations. Potash provides BHP with greater diversification by commodity, country, and customer.PURPOSEReporting to the Manager Digital Systems, the Principal Project Information Management provides leadership and direction to the BHP Potash Business on Information Management strategies, which includes document control and records management. This position implements and embeds the Owners Information Management Strategy to ensure that the right data is available and provided to the right people at the right time. The Principal develops, implements, and assures the Information Management Strategy to manage both deliverables and the respective data in accordance with requirements set by all BHP functions.ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Provides advice, counsel, and service facilitation to the various business functions.
  • Owns Information Management policies and plans that facilitate efficient, legal, and secure management and access to electronic content consistent with the Jansen Digital Strategy and BHP requirements.
  • Provides oversight, surveillance, and audit to the engineering service providers, subcontractors, and suppliers against BHP’s information governance requirements.
  • Champions the embedment of Information Management best practices in all BHP functions through communication, training, and process optimization.
  • Ensures Potash Business compliance with BHP global business-level processes.
  • Develops information repository optimization and transition plans.
  • Collaborates with other functions to integrate project systems with business enterprise systems in Operations.
  • Provides input to system plans, system architecture and handover plans established by BHP.
  • Collaborates with BHP functions to establish the requirements and processes for handover of deliverables, data/models, and systems at project completion (in accordance with the strategy to maintain the digital asset in Operations).
  • Embeds practices that continuously improve user experience, training, and support.
  • Assists with managing change and transformation, i.e., communication plans for new systems and processes to support the implementation of digital technologies.
  • Conducts maturity assessment to benchmark BHP’s Information Management maturity, identifies the desired maturity level, identifies gaps then develops plans to close gaps.
ABOUT YOUPIVOTAL EXPERIENCES FOR THE ROLE:
  • Senior-level experience in an Information Management role.
  • Excellent knowledge of Information Management principles, skills, and tools including data management, document control, and records management.
REQUIRED:
  • Degree or diploma in engineering, business, or another relevant field.
  • Good analytical skills as well as evaluative judgment based on the analysis of factual and qualitative information in complicated or novel situation.
  • Ability to filter, prioritize, analyze, and validate potentially complex and dynamic material using multiple sources of information (internal and external).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
RECOMMENDED:
  • Strong knowledge of Information Management standards and processes (i.e., ARMA, iGBOK, ISO 15489-1, ISO 9001, etc.).
  • Strong working knowledge of data-centric engineering design tools, materials management, project services (cost and schedule), construction and Information Management software.
  • Experience with Hexagon SmartPlant tools.
  • Specialized training and experience in business re-engineering, process improvement such as LEAN, Six Sigma would be an asset.
