Reporting to the Food Store Manager, responsibilities for this position include the following:To supervise all team members in the department.To be responsible for meeting or exceeding all operational objectives and goals.To be responsible for the operations and administration requirements of the department.To be responsible for all areas of human resources within the department.To ensure outstanding courteous customer service is provided in the department at all times.To be accountable for the receiving, inspecting and storage of merchandise in the department.To ensure that all merchandise is being inspected and when excessive spoilage, damage, shrinkage and shortages in inventory are evident that this is communicated to the produce operator or designate and proper action is taken.To be responsible for the preparation, assembly, displaying, and merchandising of produce related inventories in the department.To ensure that all specified overnight care and department product handling procedures are adhered to.To be responsible for the maintenance of adequate inventory levels and stock control procedures.To be responsible for the maintenance of the Co-operative’s equipment and premises.To be responsible for the adherence of association policies and procedures relating to the maintenance, sanitation and safety of all association assets.To be responsible for the adherence and enforcement of Saskatoon Co-op policies and proceduresQualifications:Candidates will have 5+ years of experience in a Produce Department. Preference would be given to candidates who have experience as a team leader, supervisor or mentor and also have experience working within a complex, high volume, retail setting. Experience within the Co-op retail system would be considered an asset, in addition to CRS Candidates whom have completed or are completing Advance Training.* a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
