Job Description

Production Assistant – LB DistillersLB Distillers is a Premium craft Distillery located in lovely Saskatoon, and our passion is manufacturing and selling the finest Lucky Bastard brand vodka, gin, whisky, rum, liqueurs, and ready-to-drink canned cocktails. We opened our doors over 10 years ago in May of 2012, and have been growing rapidly ever since! We are an organization that highly values our employees and supports our local community. We pride ourselves on our positive work atmosphere and strive to make our employees feel valued and respected.In 2021, LB Distillers added RTDs (ready-to-drink canned cocktails) to our product line, and as a result we are searching for a Production Assistant to help us make more! We are looking for someone who can coordinate the canned product production process from tracking inventory levels of raw materials and packaging, to mixing batches of ingredients, operating equipment, doing required set up/take down/clean up, and completing quality control checks. This full-time position is no desk job and would involve you being on your feet for the duration of your shift, certain tasks have a repetitive nature and a physical requirement.The schedule for this position will be Monday to Friday with a shift time of 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM.Roles and Responsibilities· Following the production schedule to ensure orders are met on time, using proper materials, and adhering to the safety and quality standards· Completing pre-canning cleaning and safety walk arounds and post-canning cleaning and paperwork· Efficiently calibrate, operate, and monitor all equipment related to the canning line· Operate the bottling and labelling machines according to our standard operating procedure· Packaging the canned product, and transporting packaged cases via forklift· Conducting regular quality control checks to ensure the product meets standards· Participate in troubleshooting and root cause analysis to solve issues· Assisting with other production tasks and cleaning requirements· Other duties as assignedWorking Conditions/Requirements· Must be 19+ years of age· Must be able to lift and stack up to 60 lbs· Must be able to continuously stand or walk for shift duration· Must have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License (driver’s abstract required)· Criminal Record check· Forklift Certification is considered an assetDesired Attributes· Excellent attention to detail and hold a high standard for cleanliness· Self-starters that take initiative and work well with high levels of autonomy· Adequate fine motor skills and physical capabilities to meet demands of the roleCompensation/Benefits· An hourly wage of $17/hour (probationary wage of $16.50/hour)· A comprehensive Saskatchewan Blue Cross benefits package· Ability to contribute to your own pension with Saskatchewan Pension Plan· 5 Flex Days every year, which are paid days off to use at your own discretion· Staff training, development, and recreation opportunities· A free 750mL bottle of Lucky Bastard product every month· A free lunch for staff on the first Tuesday of the month· A positive work environment and company culture built on valuing employeesIf you’ve read all this and you’re still interested – we like your attitude and encourage you to forward all resumes and cover letters to breanne@ luckybastard. ca (please provide references).
