Project Manager - ENG002440Employment Type: Permanent Full-timeLocation(s): SK-Stoon-SaskatoonMinistry: 016 HighwaysSalary Range: $5,825 - $7,574 MonthlyGrade: MCP.05.The Ministry of Highways is seeking highly motivated individual with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills to join our Materials and Surfacing team in Saskatoon. The position is that of a technical specialist in the Materials Project Manager position. Reporting to the Senior Materials Engineer, you will form part of a provincial technical team responsible for the development and documentation of technical standards, materials specifications, and test procedures relating to the design, construction and preservation of highway and airport infrastructure.To qualify for the Materials Project Manager position, you will possess a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from an accredited university and be eligible for registration as a professional engineer or engineer-in-training with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS). Post-secondary education in technical areas related to road materials is not a requirement for the position but will be considered an asset.Work will include managing the provincial liquid asphalt testing programs and provincial asphalt mix and aggregate testing contracts. Work will also include leading and/or supporting initiatives including research activities, test section evaluation, training, technical literature reviews, report writing, construction audits, site investigations of various works, standard and specification revisions, and other tasks. The primary focus of this position is road materials, but as time permits the position will support other areas of the team within technical areas of pavement design, geotechnical engineering, and aggregate management.
