The Ministry of Justice is responsible for providing a fair justice system that upholds the law and protects the rights of all individuals in Saskatchewan. For further information about the Saskatchewan Courts and the Provincial Court of Saskatchewan go to http://www.sasklawcourts.ca/.This position, located in Saskatoon, will provide backup to Case Manager / Judicial Assistant positions in North Battleford, Prince Albert, Saskatoon, and to a lesser extent Regina, under the direction of the Chief Judge or her designate.As a Case Manager, you will work with the assigned Administrative Judge. You will be responsible and accountable for providing effective and efficient scheduling and coordination of all matters that appear before a Provincial Court Judge so that each court appearance is a scheduled, meaningful event. In addition, you will ensure trial and settlement conferences proceed by liaising with legal counsel and relevant parties, record data and analyze statistics, preside as a justice pursuant to the Criminal Code over appearances prior to trial or disposition, and perform other specified duties as a Justice of the Peace.As a Judicial Administrative Assistant, you will provide administrative support to the Administrative Judge, Provincial Court Judges and occasionally to the Chief Judge, and Associate Chief Judges. This position provides receptionist services for the judiciary such as answering inquiries and proofreading confidential and sensitive information.
