DescriptionPosition #: 176206Expected Start Date: November 04, 2024Union: HSASFacility: Nurses Alumni WingCity/Town: SaskatoonDepartment: Mental Health Community Clinicsamp; Programs - Adult Clinical ServicesType: Full-time regularFTE: 1Shift Information: Days, Evenings, WeekendsHours of Work: 224 hours per 6 weeksRelief: NoFloat: NoField Hours: YesSalary or Pay Band: Pay Band Psychologist - PhD $56.568 to $69.012Job Summary: The Psychologist will be responsible for the provision of services to adults who are experiencing significant distress or dysfunction related to mental disorder, trauma, cumulative stress or problems in living. Clinical services will include psychological assessments including neurological testing, diagnostic services and treatment which will be provided in conjunction with a multidisciplinary team. The psychologist may be asked to work collaboratively with more than one program area. This position will work in both Adult Mental Healthamp; Addictions and the Early Psychosis Intervention Program.Travel Required: YesHuman Resources Exemption: NoExperience

Knowledge and Abilities
  • Knowledge in psychological assessment and treatment methods and tools
  • Knowledge in social and cultural practices
  • Knowledge in substance abuse and addictions, including cause and effect
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members and the community at large.
  • Knowledge of the treatment and management of clients with mental illness
  • Knowledge in demographics and culture in within the SHA
  • Ability to provide counseling and therapy to individuals, couples and groups
  • Knowledge in mental health assessment systems
  • Knowledge in diverse cultures, values and traditions
  • Knowledge in various mental disorders, etiology, treatment and intervention
  • Ability to competently use computers and software applications
  • Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge in counselling practices for concurrent mental health/substance abuse
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team

  • Authorized Practice Endorsement within the SKCP would be considered an asset
