Research ManagerPrimary Purpose: The Waniska Research Manager is expected to be a visionary leader who represents Waniska to the public and its stakeholders. Reporting to the Principal Investigator(s), the Research Manager will lead the management and coordination of research activities related to the Waniska Indigenous Centre on HIV/HCV/STBBI Inequities, focused in Saskatchewan and Manitoba. This person will further develop program objectives, reports; assist with grant development and implementation regarding the Centre goals. The Research Manager will be responsible for the day to day work and supervision of all project staff.Nature of Work: As a valued member of Pewaseskwan (the Indigenous Wellness Research Group), the Research Manager will build and maintain professional relationships to work collaboratively with community and university stakeholders, research staff and faculty as well as independently manage the smooth, effective and efficient coordination of projects related to the Centre. The Research Manager will play a key role in developing written materials related to research proposals and projects as well as in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of policies, procedures and initiatives.The work is varied and diverse, and new projects are often undertaken as time-sensitive opportunities arise. The work will involve a mix of administrative and research tasks (80/20 respectively). The Research Manager requires a breadth of knowledge and experience in research, working with Indigenous communities, project management and university operations. The successful candidate must have the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, balancing competing deadlines, priorities and multiple projects simultaneously.
