Job Description

Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Retail Auditor on a permanent basis on our Audit Services team.If you enjoy building relationships, being collaborative and problem solving, this is your opportunity to work with a wide variety of people and impact communities throughout Western Canada.This is a hybrid position based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, with opportunities to travel across Western Canada to a variety of local Co-op locations to build relationships and be involved in hands-on audit activities.What you’ll do:

  • Support audit testing on the conversion of Co-op Retailing System to JD Edwards
  • Lead and support audit engagements of moderate complexity in accordance with appropriate accounting and auditing standards
  • Participate in the provision of an independent, objective assessment of local Co-operative governance, risk management process and system of internal control structure by performing reviews as assigned
  • Complete the audit file ensuring all documentation and conclusions are recorded for all testing of control procedures and will communicate to the local Co-operative’s Board of Directors and management weaknesses identified during the audit or areas of improvement to controls, systems efficiencies, or accounting procedures
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and corporate tax returns
Who you’ll work with:You will demonstrate customer focus while supporting local co-ops and work closely with the Retail Audit Service team and will report into the Retail Audit Manager.   • Have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Commerce, a major in accounting or finance is preferred
  • Have 1 – 3 years of relevant accounting, auditing, or retail operations experience
  • Are actively pursuing a professional accounting (CPA) or auditing (CIA) designation (a combination of relevant education, experience and/or designations may be considered)
  • Have knowledge of risk management, governance and control process would be considered an asset
  • Knowledge of JD Edwards and mainframe applications are an asset
  • Have a valid drivers license and the ability to travel throughout Western Canada
