Q-Line has been awarded the Canadian Top Medium Fleet Employer for two consecutive years!*SUMMARY*The Accounts Manager is responsible for managing assigned accounts, and ensuring customer freight inquiries, cargo damage claim complaints and freight transactions are processed. The Accounts Manager will work closely with Business Development in pursuing new customers and opportunities where applicable. Typical duties in this role will including quoting rates, scheduling loads and monitoring equipment utilization. This position requires excellent communication skills, problem solving skills and effective time management abilities.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Looks to maximize revenue and sales for assigned accounts and customers.
  • Interacts regularly with existing accounts & customers via telephone, email or in-person.
  • Provide information regarding Q-Line’s services
  • Books and enter freight
  • Obtains details of complaints
  • Working within Company specifications, provides quotes and negotiates freight rates with customers.
  • Communicates various pertinent information (i.e. rates, work orders, etc.) to Q-Line’s operations team.
  • Working closely with the operations department, looks at securing loads that best align with current planning challenges and opportunities, with the goal of maximizing equipment utilization and minimizing empty miles.
  • Maintains constant communication with external customers, the sales department and the operations department on any issues, conflicts or challenges to ensure they are resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
  • Works with the business development team to take on new opportunities and customers as appropriate.
  • Works with incoming project requests as required.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of the freight market, to ensure that freight quotes are priced appropriately, while providing feedback to the Sales Manager on movement within the market.
  • Nurtures a strong relationship with customers, by following up with customers to ensure satisfaction of services provided.
  • Utilizing internal Q-Line resources available, provides advice and feedback to customers on potential challenges (i.e. loading of freight, border crossing, etc.).
  • Works collaboratively with various departments within Q-Line to achieve the shared goal of strong customer service.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, with relevant post-secondary education being an asset.
  • Previous account management or business-to-business sales experience is required, with a preference for experience within the transportation (or industries Q-Line services) preferred.
  • Must be moderately technologically inclined, with the ability to utilize various transportation programs and/or business operations software.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills are required.
  • Must be able to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Effective time management skills required.
  • Excellent oral and written comprehension skills required.
  • Productive collaboration skills with various cross-functional abilities while working with other employees.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills required.
