Job Description

We offer opportunities for training, incentives and flexible work arrangements to attract and retain talented and dedicated personnel.Kindersley Transport Ltd., a member of Siemens Transportation Group Inc., requires an Equipment Coordinator at their Saskatoon, SK location.Applicants that have experience in the transportation industry regarding the operations, dispatch, and regulations surrounding equipment use are strongly encouraged to apply!This position is Monday to FridayResponsibilities

  • Monitor the status and availability of 1,200 - 2,400 trailers including reefer, heater, dry van, tandem, tridem 53 foot trailers and single/tandem converters.
  • Maintain trailer pool for priority customers
  • Monitor outbound lineup coordinate equipment repositioning
  • Work with Maintenance and Safety Departments to position trailers for safety / service /risk requirements
  • Validate yard checks
  • Communicate with city pickup or delivery information to the local Branches across Canada
  • Work with the assigned fleet of Drivers numbering between 6-10 communicating all local pickup and deliveries
  • Monitor on time service
  • Obtain PODs for any local deliveries
  • Complete all TMW computer work
  • Communicate anomalies with CSRs (OS&D, Late, Rebooks, Redeliveries)
  • Maintain optimum utilization of City Drivers
  • Validate Driver Trip Sheets for payroll and submit for payment

Qualifications
  • 2 years of experience in an operational role within the transportation industry
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Experience with computerized dispatch
  • Familiar with highway line haul regulations and requirements
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations, tractor and trailer equipment and a central dispatch environment would be ideal
