Job TitleSecurity Manager (1 Year Contract)Job Description SummaryTitle: Security ManagerLocation: Midtown Plaza, Saskatoon, SKReporting To:General Manager, Midtown PlazaThe role of the Security Manager is to actively oversee the Security department to deliver the highest standards for a safe & secure retail and office environment, to protect owner asset (property) and mitigate risk.Job DescriptionDevelopment and implementation of a Security & Life Safety plan for Midtown Plaza, a retail and office complex in downtown Saskatoon;Development and maintenance of ongoing relationships with retail and office tower tenants as it relates to security;Leads a team of in-house Security Supervisors to ensure the day-to-day Security operations of the property are completed and handled in a professional & timely manner;Oversees, mentors and motivates (through Security Supervisory team) a team of in-house Security officers;Provides a comprehensive customer service focused security training program, and continually develops enhancements to the program;Develop, implement and ensure that proper procedures are observed related to, but not limited to; security programs, reporting of liability claims, completion of occurrence reports, property inspections, occupational health & safety, building access controls etc;Develop and foster ongoing inter-departmental co-operation and communicationEstablish and maintain key contacts with internal, tenant, public authority, supplier, and security industry stakeholders including local police, fire and emergency medical services representatives;Prepare, in conjunction with General Manager, the annual Security & Life Safety budgets;Reviews and approves budgets relating to annual departmental expenditures, such as on security contracts, salaries, and capital, before final sign-off by appropriate company signing authoritiesDevelop, implement, maintain/update comprehensive Threat Assessments, Crisis Response Plans, Emergency/Fire/Life Safety Plans for the property;Development and implementation of emergency procedures, disaster recovery plans, building access control, security systems, reports and recommendations;Other duties as assigned by General Manager.Skills & Experience Required:The successful candidate will possess:A minimum of five (5) years’ security experience (preferably in a office / retail environment) – or equivalent work experience;Proven management and supervision skills;Must hold valid Saskatchewan Security License;Post-secondary degree in law enforcement a definite asset;Fully competent in all aspects of health & safety legislation;Familiar with fire equipment/systems, security systems;Working knowledge of CCTV, Building Codes, Non-smoking Bylaw and WHMIS;Must be public relations and customer service focused;Must have strong organizational, prioritization, time management skills; and be able to manage multiple direct reports;Excellent inter-personal skills; Strong coaching, mentoring, training and motivational skills;Able to work in a ‘Team’ environment;Be self-motivated, self-confident, diplomatic, innovative and able to accept challenges;Superior written and oral communication skills;Computer literacy;A proficiency in basic accounting, including the development and administration of operational department budgets;Must provide clear criminal clearance certificate;A valid Saskatchewan drivers’ License.Cushman & Wakefield is committed to equity in employment and our goal is to have a diverse, inclusive, and barrier-free workplace.
