Come and be a part of this success.PurposeThe purpose of the Community Affairs sub function is to understand and minimise adverse social and human rights impacts arising from company activities, develop mutually beneficial relationships with host communities and contribute to their economic and social development, enabling a shared benefit from our presence.This role is responsible for providing specialist-level support and executing tasks related to the Asset engagement, Social Investment and reporting requirements.About the RoleCoordinate and progress social value strategy and execution (e.g. sponsorships, memberships, donations, and social investments, as required)Contributes input to the advice collated for line management regarding the Asset Social Value strategyFacilitate, coordinate and record actions that align with BHP systems and best practices for the engagement of community engagement in CanadaProactively identifies risks, anticipate, and manage issues effectively that may impact locally communities, develop recommendations to potential impacts on host communitiesCollate input and contribute to the development of the Asset Community component of the Business stakeholder engagement plan and executes at the Asset levelImplements Complaints & Grievances procedure for BHP in CanadaMonitors and tracks function budget in support of Corporate Affairs Manager, and fulfillment of function & BHP objectivesStakeholder reporting through SharePoint system and other databasesAbout the Role Cont.Jansen – Single point of contact for Corporate Affairs for the Jansen site and local rural and urban municipalities in Saskatchewan.Coordinate external events with a wide range of stakeholders as required (meetings, open houses, community and site tours, events, trade shows)Participate in the promotion and evaluation of the Social Investment Program for CanadaOn an ‘as & when required’ basis provides support to the Potash and company Crisis Communication requirements for Corporate AffairsWork on internal cross-function teams to support the Global Corporate Affairs function in SaskatchewanPerform other related duties as assigned by Corporate Affairs ManagerAbout YouProblem Solving: Ability to make judgements based on practice and previous experience and evaluate options under circumstances that may not be covered by procedures.Scope of Decision Making and Impact of Decisions:Direct impact through the responsibility for the quality of the tasks performed/services provided.
