Our strategy is to focus on creating a safe work environment where our employees feel strongly connected to our values and objectives, and where the capability of our people is key to our success.Come and be a part of this success.About the roleSpecialist – Planning and Analytics Potash is based in Saskatoon, SK and reports to the Manager Finance – Potash.This role is responsible for ensuring the Potash asset, including co-located Global and Regional Functions, receive fit-for-purpose financial planning and analytics support. Furthermore, this role acts as a key integrator between Finance and Potash cost owners to deliver value add system integration and end to end analytics reporting of the financial cycle. This role will support the Manager of Finance to deliver dashboard visualizations and analytic reporting to support the Potash asset, Jansen project and Global functions.This role requires a keen understanding of the budgeting cycle and the ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders by turning data into insights, challenging the status quo, and framing and influencing decisions through problem solving.The role works directly with the Jansen Project team, Heads of Global Functions, and Heads of Regional Functions and will also be required to partner with our Minerals Americas Finance teams in Santiago, Chile to deliver value add reporting.In this role, you will:

  • Demonstrate commitment to the BHP Charter and Code of Business Conduct.

  • Develop strong working relationships with key internal stakeholders.
  • Confidently present ideas, results and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
  • Understand your customer and their needs in order to deliver value added analytic reporting as per the BHP Operating System (BOS).
  • Deliver cost reporting, financial analysis and insights including the development and testing of hypotheses.
  • Manage and execute 5 year plans, budgets and quarterly forecasts.
  • Build and maintain driver-based models for planning submissions.
  • Understand analytics models, systems and tools to ensure optimal efficiency and standardisation when delivering business requests;
  • Assist where required with the development and maintenance of dashboard and analytics tools for the Potash asset.
  • Drive the adoption of SAP Analytics Cloud with key stakeholders.
  • Effectively integrate all cost interfaces by utilizing multiple systems including Microsoft Excel, Power BI, SQL, etc.
  • Keep up-to-date with latest trends and best practices in planning, business intelligence and advanced analytics.
About you:
  • Degree qualification in Commerce (Finance or Accounting), Engineering, or Information Systems.
  • Minimum of 2+ years experience working with a large corporate or professional environment while in a business planning capacity.
  • Demonstrate financial planning process knowledge, data analytics and diagnosis with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, stakeholder engagement and ability to work autonomously and collaboratively and deliver as needed.
  • Experience working with Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC) 11.0 (embedded) and SAP Analytics Cloud planning is highly advantageous.
  • Fluent English, both verbal and written.
