The project is expected to produce 4.35 million tonnes of potash per year with initial production targeted for 2027, ramping up to full production over two years. Jansen potash project is located approximately 140 km southeast of Saskatoon. Potash opens a new front for growth and is an expandable resource that can support a century or more of operations. Potash provides BHP with greater diversification by commodity, country, and customer.PurposeReporting to the Manager Project Commercial, the Superintendent Governance & Systems provides leadership to the Program & Systems team focused on the delivery of systems, program, risk management and governance activities and solutions to the procurement sub-function. This position is instrumental in translating strategy into operational plans for the department.About the Role

  • Manages end-to-end Supply Chain to enhance efficiency, drive optimization, and maximize value
  • Understands the business context, BHP operating model and ways of working to enhance decision making, productivity and value chain performance
  • Is knowledgeable of other countries political, historical, and cultural context to build partnerships, market expertise and achieve business outcomes within an international context
  • Sources information, plans and conducts analysis to support evidence-based decision making
  • Identifies and assesses opportunities and challenges, makes risk informed decisions, uses BHPs risk management framework, and builds a risk awareness culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes
  • Mitigates people, environmental and community risks across the value chain, in alignment with sustainability and public policy
  • Coaches and develops team leaders / teams to deliver high performance
  • Plays a major role in establishing and developing new policies and procedures related to Supply Chain
  • Engages the capabilities of the entire organization
  • Strives to achieve 100% safety, 100% customer value and 0% waste
  • Knows our customer and is obsessed with meeting their needs
About YouRequired:
  • Experience in a large project environment (mining, power, oil & gas, construction)
  • Previous experience leading and managing diverse teams
Recommended:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Administration, Management or Commerce, Law, Engineering or related disciplines
  • Experience with enterprise systems / digital strategy systems such as SAP, SmartPlant, etc.
Pivotal Experiences for the Role:
  • Exposure to implementation of global / regional / local strategy, standards processes, systems, and plans
  • Analysis and/or benchmarking of Major Capital Programs performance
  • Previous exposure to the creation of risk and quality assurance management plans
  • Program Management experience
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing systems within the contracts and procurement space
  • Experience managing internal and external stakeholder relationships
