Job Description

Division: Strategy and TransformationDepartment: Information TechnologyTerm: 1 Permanent Full Time position(s) available.Closing Date: 09/09/2022Labour Group: CUPE 59Posting: 1366Job SummaryUnder the supervision of the Information Technology Coordinator, this position is responsible for the implementation, administration, and maintenance of client management systems used to deliver software and hardware in an enterprise environment.Duties & Responsibilities1. Coordinates, implements, and administers the configuration management system to deliver remote control, security updates, software distribution, operating system deployment, and inventory reporting.2. Consults with Stakeholders to ensure application installation requirements are collected, and the appropriate software packaging, delivery methods, and processes follow Release Management best practices.3. In-scope Supervisor that directs, trains, and mentors staff as assigned.4. Performs project roles as assigned.5. Prepares monitoring and trend analysis reports and maintains effective accessibility to documentation for the support and management of end-user software and hardware.6. Evaluates computer resource usage and performance, and make recommendations regarding future hardware and software requirements.7. Assists with vendor management and coordinates vendor and City of Saskatoon support staff to determine and resolve hardware and software issues.8. Consults with Information Technology teams to continuously improve tiered and swarm support models to provide effective and efficient customer support.9. Prepares proposals and recommendations for management action.10. Assists with the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and standards.11. Maintains knowledge of advancements as they pertain to current and future departmental and corporate IT requirements.12. Performs other related duties as required.Qualifications

  • Degree in computational science or related discipline plus six years experience in computer services including two years of current experience as a Programmer Analyst III in enterprise computer management systems, processes, and technologies.
ORSuccessful completion of a recognized two-year, post-secondary computer sciences program plus eight years experience in information technology support, including two years’ current experience as a Programmer Analyst III in enterprise computer management systems, processes, and technologies.
  • Possession of one or more vendor certifications. (Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, MSCE and VMware Certified Professional (VCP), HDI-SCTL) would be considered an asset.
  • For the purpose of this posting experience in enterprise computer management systems, processes and technologies must involve 2 years’ current experience in the following areas:
  • Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (Formerly SCCM)
  • Microsoft Windows and Windows Server
  • Microsoft Office
  • Microsoft Group Policy, MECM Compliance Settings, and Intune Policy Management
  • Possession of ITIL v3 or v4 Certification is required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the operational characteristics, technical architectures, and functionality of major desktop/mobile device applications and operating systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of technical support, system migration, and integration in an enterprise environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Information Technology best practices related to service delivery and operational support.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management tools and techniques and the ability to participate in all project roles.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the corporate organization, interdepartmental relationships, and the relevant policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, including preparing and conducting presentations.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to relate well with all levels of the organization and external contacts.
