Roadways Literacy Academy Saskatoon Inc. is a private school & tutoring studio in Saskatoon, SK, specializing in students who learn in different ways. We understand not only the challenges but also the unique gifts that some children possess. Although most of our students have a Specific Learning Disability, namely dyslexia, no matter what the diagnosis (or lack of diagnosis), we strive to work with each child’s uniqueness, meeting students where they are on the learning pathway, and facilitating their journey with our expertise and compassion.Roadways Literacy Academy is an elementary/middle School with an enrollment of approx. 20 full time students (Gr 1- Gr 10) and 50 tutoring students with the intention of future growth. The school is located at 1438B Fletcher Road, Saskatoon.Roadways is excited to be expanding our staff and are accepting applications for the following positions: qualified elementary teachers, resource teachers, and educational assistants, and administrative assistant.Teachers in this role will be responsible for developing lesson plans, IEPs, and report cards along with other responsibilities. We are looking for strong individuals who can be leaders in our school and community and alter learning strategies to those of their students. An individual with a special passion in the field of special education would feel very much at home in our environment.Hours: part time and full-time options available starting September 1, 2022; Monday to FridaySalary: subject to experience, qualifications, and level of instructional requirementQualifications Required: may consist of B.Ed, E.A. Certificate, or equivalent education, depending on the position being applied forRequirements:Applicants will have:1. An understanding of Saskatchewan curriculum requirements and adapting the curriculum for children with diverse abilities2. Ability to work well with others3. Experience in program planning (daily, weekly, and monthly)5. Willingness to communicate and meet with parents/caregivers to provide regular updates on student progress6. Flexibility and understanding when schedule changes happen and new students are admitted7. Creativity (programming, classroom decor, special events)8. Willingness to support extra-curricular school activities (e.g. camps, field trips, student plays, etc.)9. More than 1 year of hands-on experience working with children in a teaching environment10. Skill with technology; Zoom and Teams for meetings11. Willingness to be an ambassador for our school12.
