Partners and interacts with internal and external customers to ensure quality service.Performs miscellaneous related duties.TYPICAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES(Not all inclusive or applicable to all assignments)Installs, tests and maintains IP core and access network, Video, power, control and surveillance equipment.Monitors, repairs and maintains devices associated with IP, switching, trunking, Video, wireless and/or special services, miscellaneous toll equipment, rectifiers and power equipment, surveillance equipment, television operating centre equipment, fibre optics and their auxiliary equipment.Provide customer service support for assurance and implementation activities.Interprets equipment drawings, specifications, wiring lists, schematics in order to install, rearrange, repair and recover equipment.Adjusts trunking and/or special services equipment to electrical and mechanical specifications. Cross-connects frame equipment and implements software necessary to provide service.Performs Control Office functions and responsibilities for the implementation and resolution of Network problems.Operates test equipment and database systems to locate equipment and/or routing problems. Analyzes, locates, tracks, escalates and resolves equipment/network problems.Analyzes, identifies and implements changes and updates to software in stored program controlled systems and other mainframe database systems.Installs, repairs and maintains computer hardware, software and the related network for internal and external customers.QUALIFICATIONSDegree in Computer Science OR Diploma/Certificate in Electronics/Computer Engineering Technology/Computer Science OR Level 30 Math with 3 years experience in technical support of networks, servers or server based applications OR Level 30 Math with 3 years experience Band 6 or higherWorking knowledge in one or more of the following areas:a)Installation, maintenance and repair of current data transmission equipment and LAN/WAN technologyb)IP and related IP applicationsc)Wireless technologiesd)Voice technologies and related servicese)Video technologiesORBasic Electricity, Electronics and Transmission (for positions in locations other than Regina and/or Saskatoon)Working knowledge of Network protocolsWorking knowledge of personal computers and various software applications.
