The YMCA Child development Centre -Brighton location - is seeking a professional, mature, energetic, responsible, and committed individual to join our team in a full time Educator position. Our Sutherland location provides care children 6 weeks to 6 years old. Successful candidates will enjoy a membership to the YMCA Fit Centre including all registered classes, as well as a comprehensive benefits package after the probationary period.Duties include(but not limited to): Planning developmentally appropriate and stimulating activities in a play-based environment. Participating in physical activities. Encouraging child-led activities through carefully chosen equipment and toys. Teaching children the values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility and inclusiveness towards all living things. Cleaning, organizing and sanitizing. Assist in maintaining records of children. Supervise staff, trainees or volunteers as required. This position is specific to one on one support.Requirements: -ECE level 1,2 or 3-Related experience-Current First Aid and CPR-C-Current clear Criminal Record Check and vulnerable sector searchSkills and Abilities: Must be able to supervise 1-2 people and also have knowledge of, and maintain childcare ratios in accordance with Ministry standards and regulations. The successful applicant will have excellent written, reading and oral communication skills. Computer literacy/use is required. Job task planning, critical thinking and strong decision making skills are required. Ability to work well as a team as well as individually is a requirement.Ability to work with a child in a one on one environment for support.Credentials (certificates, licenses, memberships, courses, etc.)-ECE Level 1, 2 or 3 (issued by the Ministry of Saskatchewan)-Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation/First Aid (CPR-C)CertificateEarly Childhood Education Skills: Knowledge of licensing regulations, and the ability to assess the developmental level of children. Prepare progress reports and discuss with parents and other staff members. Provide supervision and guidance of daily activities, field trips and special activities.
