This approach, along with our extreme work ethic, makes us a service provider of choice for many clients. What You’ll Do:Based in Sault Ste. Marie, ON, the Water Engineering Co-op will:

  • Assist in the preparation of engineering designs and work orders for capital works, system extensions, maintenance, operations, or replacement
  • Assist with development and review of drawings and specifications for construction to meet regulatory requirements
  • Ensure work is in compliance with regulatory requirements and legislation
  • Assist with the preparation of contracts for tender as well as supporting contractor management duties
  • Provide technical support pertaining to drinking-water systems including: the establishment and maintenance of distribution standards, water system studies, water servicing, and water distribution and treatment system design
  • Assist in the planning and design for long term sustainability and reliability of the drinking-water system
  • Research company records to verify infrastructure details
  • Assist with assembling and analyzing budgets and project costs
  • Assist with verifying bills of materials and monitoring the availability of materials and recommending appropriate new materials and equipment as required
  • Contribute to innovative solutions towards technological advancements for our customers
  • Provide quality services to our customers in a safe, and efficient manner
  • Contribute to leveraging technology to digitize processes
  • Review and recommend opportunities to implement new technologies

  • You are enrolled in a Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO) accredited Bachelor of Science, Civil Engineering (or related discipline) program
  • You have a sound working knowledge of engineering principles related to municipal drinking-water systems, including water supply, treatment, and distribution
  • Familiarity with applicable legislation related to water supply, treatment, and distribution is an asset
  • You have a demonstrated ability to work with software such as Microsoft Office, CAD, GIS, and databases
  • You can pivot and alter approach to accomplish desired results
  • You are not afraid to raise your hand when you need help or guidance
