Apply today to join our team!As an Audiometric Technician you will:Conduct a variety of designated screening tests, assist with the provision of clinical audiology services and support the use of hearing equipment.ABOUT SECHELT, BCThe District Municipality of Sechelt is located on the lower Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, approximately 50 km northwest of Vancouver. It is accessible from the mainland by a 40-minute ferry trip between Horseshoe Bay and Langdale, followed by a 25-minute drive along Highway 101, also known as the Sunshine Coast Highway. This charming seaside community is known for its natural beauty and is a popular destination for outdoor activities including sightseeing, boating, diving, camping and mountain biking. There are also several municipal parks, plenty of eateries, locally owned shops, boutiques and galleries, and a golf course. That is what Sechelt has to offer you!QUALIFICATIONS:Education & ExperienceGrade 12.Two years experience as an audiometric technician and experience working within a hearing screening program or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience in a related clinical setting.Experience working with infants, children, adults and their families and experience working with clients with developmental disabilities.Valid BC Drivers License. Local area travel requires the use of a personal vehicle for which mileage reimbursement will be paid.Knowledge & AbilitiesAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.Ability to prioritize and organize workload.Ability to practice and deliver client and family centered care.Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.Ability to work in preschools, schools and community health care settings.Physical ability and manual dexterity to carry out the duties of the position.Ability to operate related equipment.Ability to type.The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes.
