Courses are offered within a Learning Centre setting, for individuals, families, care providers, service providers and community. The position includes participating in co-production and design sessions for course development, which involves collaborating with stakeholders including students, community partners and advisory councils. This role will work out of our Selkirk, Manitoba site.This salary range for this position falls within the Collective Agreement Band 4 scale of between$43,950.66 and $53,560.17.The Responsibilities

  • Facilitate educational sessions on a range of topics related to recovery, health, and well-being
  • Design course materials, including engaging presentations, facilitator guides, resource packages and marketing and promotional materials
  • Deliver mental health and illness education to external groups and organizations
- Assess education and training needs for pre-determined target groups- Develop workshop curricula to achieve specific learning objectives of groups- Coordinate details and arrangements- Monitor and evaluate education and training activities
  • Lead planning and administering education campaigns to the public (i.e., Mental Health Week events)
  • Assume coordination in the delivery of education and training events when the agency is involved in joint projects
- Work collaboratively with project partners according to partnership agreements- Maintain knowledge base on other education/training opportunities being offered in the community- Participate as a member of the service delivery team
  • Assist in development and maintain program standards, procedures, and outcomes
  • Support program development, evaluation, innovation, and quality improvement
  • Understand and apply recovery oriented and trauma informed approaches
Qualifications
  • This position requires a post-secondary degree or program in a human service-related discipline such as social work, psychology, nursing, or education and over two years’ direct service experience in the service area
  • Demonstrated competence in training and facilitation
  • Strong oral and written communications skills with the ability to work effectively and independently
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Stages of Change and Motivational Interviewing
  • Experience with client record management software/database
  • Three years’ experience:
- Developing adult education courses using co-production methodology- Delivering adult education courses- Developing a range of printed materials- Delivering presentations in small and large group settings
  • Knowledge of adult education theory and practices and social emotional learning theory
  • Knowledge of Recovery College model
  • Experience with project management practices
  • Knowledge of current audio/visual technology and computer software
  • Knowledge of mental health, mental illness, and substance use disorders, and of Harm Reduction
Principles
  • Strong knowledge of service model and modes of delivery
  • Knowledge of community resources and the health, mental health, social service, and government service systems
  • Knowledge of mental health and addictions systems and well-being and mental illness and recovery experiences
  • Understanding of the impact of stigma, and of the impacts of trauma, including inter-generational trauma
  • Demonstrated competence in cultural safety and work effectively with individuals with various backgrounds
  • Personal or lived experience of mental health issues would be considered an asset
Accountabilities
  • Adherence to ethical and professional standards, and guidelines
  • Actively gather current best practices to inform and sustain quality improvement and innovation
  • Complete work records and report progress and goal attainment as prescribed
  • Maintain statistical and relevant data to support fund development for the program
  • Support capacity building and lead training including communities of practice
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and facilitate presentations and market services
  • Achievement of service goals and expected outcomes
  • Promote services and network with agency partners
