Job Description

Whether you are working on the front line, in one of our corporate office departments, or as a member of our executive team, we all work towards the same goal — ensuring our members are happy.Facilities TechnicianThe Facilities Technician is responsible for the maintenance, service and repairs in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, machine servicing, or electrical servicing to the organization’s facilities in all Sunova and Brio locations.Experience: (desired)5-7 years experience and or proven ability to complete all tasks in the areas of maintenance, including plumbing, carpentry, electrical servicing, painting, etc.Ability to multi task and coordinate projects.Education: (desired)Completion of Grade 12Class 5 Power Engineer’s CertificateRefrigeration and Air Conditioning DesignationValid class 5 Manitoba Driver’s LicenceValid Emergency First Aid CertificateKey Responsibilities: The Facility Technician will provide superior service to all Sunova / Brio branches. This includes:Maintenance

  • Ensure the efficient operation of all plumbing, electric and mechanical systems
  • Provide a positive liaison with appointed personnel at each property, addressing their concerns
  • Responsible for ensuring that inspection routines are formalized and completed in a timely and effective manner
  • Ensuring that the buildings life safety equipment and systems, as well as the buildings emergency evacuations plans are up to date and kept in excellent operational condition
  • Responsible for parking lots and grounds maintenance. Coordinate and supervise the ground keeping companies in each location where necessary
  • Provides a variety of custodial functions in and around buildings, including setup and removal of furniture, changing light bulbs, signage bulbs, filters and touch up painting, debris pick up, etc. as required
  • Provides a variety of minor building maintenance and repair tasks and when assistance is necessary. Assist/ supervises trades people or specialists with major repairs, building renovations and maintenance operations
Business Development
  • Travel between various locations to service buildings and be on call for emergencies as required
  • Represent Sunova competencies in all public interactions
  • Ensure that all maintenance is kept up to date and done in a timely manner
