Reporting to the Secretary Treasurer, this position assists with payroll and payroll related accounting functions. This position is responsible for providing efficient, effective, and timely payroll administration in a confidential, professional, and competent manner while working under strict deadlines. These duties are performed under the policies and guidelines of the Lord Selkirk School Division, Manitoba Employment Standards and any other legislated requirements. The Payroll Assistant must present a positive and professional image for all staff, inquires and others.Assists with ensuring that all staff salaries and wages are properly paid on a regular schedule in accordance with collective agreements and employment contracts. Assists with ensuring that accurate payroll records are maintained in accordance with applicable federal and provincial regulations and division policies and procedures. Assists with ensuring accuracy of time and absence data entered either manually or electronically. Assists with ensuring that proper records of vacation, personal leave and sick time entitlements and usage by staff are maintained. Files payroll information in individual employee files.Respond to employment verifications requested by employees for bank loans and mortgages.·Assist and understand the process to prepare reports for payroll and accounting information as required (Statistics Canada, substitute verifications, days taught) and others as required. Provide support to school staff for employee time and absence reporting.Other duties as assigned.3+ years of recent experience in a payroll environment and/or education and work experience within a payroll environment.Canadian Payroll certification would be an asset. Must be detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy. Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to meet frequent deadlines. Demonstrated ability to work with highly confidential information. Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office. Ability to work independently and in a team setting.Job Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: From $22.50 per hourBenefits:
