Job Description

Opta’s purpose is to be the leading supplier of performance materials and solutions in the steel, infrastructure, and specialty chemical industries.Process OperatorDuties/Responsibilities

  • Production, including labelling, producing, packaging and storing of supersacs and small bags in compliance with work instruction and production schedule.
  • Collecting samples of goods produced as outline on the product specification.
  • Documentation of activities and some calculations required.
  • Performing and documenting feeder calibrations as outlined on the work instruction and calibration schedule. Some calculations required
  • Staging, picking /verifying orders for shipping.
  • Loading trucks in compliance with work instruction and customer requirements.
  • Receiving bulk materials including verifying material and determining designated silo. Operating and monitoring receiving system; documenting activities. Performing visual inspection of material and collecting samples.
  • Performing and documenting routine and preventative maintenance in accordance with the PM schedule. Monitoring equipment function and reporting malfunction/issues to Operations Manager.
  • General shop duties including warehouse and lot upkeep and cleaning, workstation cleaning.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Verbal and written communication skills a must.
  • WHMIS Training, violence & harassment training, fall arrest training, and forklift training will all be provided but previous experience an asset.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
