Job Description

Position Summary: The Stratford Perth Heritage Foundation (SPHF) is looking for an independent self-starter, age 15-30, to assist with the promotion and preservation of the historic Fryfogel Inn & Tavern and its internationally recognized Arboretum. This will involve welcoming and interacting with visitors to our property and helping the SPHF with property maintenance and the completion of small projects.Duties and Responsibilities: The primary duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Assist in preparing Tavern and property for being open to public- Assist in general administrative tasks, research projects, and site planning- Ensure the site is secure, clean and safe for visitors- Maintain daily visitor records- Development and implementation of summer programs for visitors- Provide high-level customer service to members of the public- Advocate for local tourist spots and activities- Report staff and visitor concerns to supervisors- Perform minor Tavern maintenance and property grounds-keeping- Perform other duties and tasks as assignedQualifications: Candidates interested in this position may be studying or have a background in Education, Curatorial and Museum Studies, History, Public Relations, Horticulture and Landscape Studies or Event Planning.Thorough knowledge of computer software applications to include Microsoft Excel and Word, internet, social media and email.First Aid and CPR training is an asset but not required.Employees must have access to reliable transportation.Reference ID: SPHF2021-01Contract length: 11 weeksPart-time hours: 30 per weekApplication deadline: 2021-05-28Expected start date: 2021-06-07Job Types: Part-time, ContractSalary: $14.25 per hourSchedule:
