Overview:MAINTENANCE VESSEL DECKHANDSKelly Cove Salmon Ltd., a division of Cooke Aquaculture Inc., a dynamic and growing east coast family company, with Platinum Member status in the Canada’s Best Managed Companies Program, is offering a unique opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join the Company’s team as a Maintenance Vessel Deckhand in Shelburne, N.S. This position reports to the Vessel Captain.Cooke is a global seafood company with operations in North America, Europe, and South America. Our company’s success is driven by our dynamic, highly-skilled and innovative management team, supported by dedicated employees who live in coastal communities and contribute to the local area’s economy and sense of community.The Role:Primary duties of this position include grid installation and inspection/repair; cage and net installation and removal; net washing, harvest assistance, cleaning of the vessel deck, and general site maintenance. Applicants must hold or be willing to obtain a Marine Emergency Duties (MED) certificate. Flexible work hours and schedules are required. Working in outside weather conditions, lifting and moving heavy objects as well as the ability to stand for long periods, bend, lift and reach are requirements of this position.Ideal candidates will have deckhand and/or aquaculture experience.
