Job Description

As a Care Companion, you will be a valued and trusted companion to seniors, providing the social and emotional support to help residents lead a healthy and happy life. Responsibilities

  • Provide companionship and basic household tasks for Memory Living Residents under the direction of the LPN or Director of Care.
  • Perform basic meal preparation and light housekeeping duties such as washing dishes, taking out the garbage, doing client’s laundry. Sweeping and vacuuming within the client’s immediate living area may be required.
  • Engage with residents on a daily basis by leading recreational activities in a group setting or one on one.
  • Maintain awareness of patient’s abilities, current diagnosis made by medical professionals, diet, personal interests and special needs.
  • Other duties as assigned to support operational requirements
Qualifications and Experience
  • Compassionate individual with a passion for helping others
  • 1–2-year experience required
  • Registered with provincial health care registry is a benefit
  • Experience in a residential care setting is preferred
  • Demonstrate infection control procedures
  • Ability to interact with others in a caring, courteous and tactful manner
Conditions of Employment
  • Valid CPR and First Aid an asset
  • Clear Police Information Check
