Job Description

VG Meats is looking for qualified and positive candidates to be a working leader for our Logistics Team. This will entail mapping routes, coordinating vacation planning for drivers, performing local runs, ensuring order accuracy, acting as a liaison for the driver team with the production supervisor and order desk personnel, owning the shorts with customers and production, and working with management to improve KPIs for the Driver Department.   • Determine method of shipment and arrange shipping; prepare bills of lading, customs forms, invoices, and other shipping documents manually or by computer.
  • Assemble containers and crates, record contents manually or by computer, pack goods to be shipped, and affix identifying information and shipping instructions.
  • Oversee loading and unloading of goods from trucks or other conveyances
  • Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents, record shortages and reject damaged goods.
  • Unpack, code and route goods to appropriate storage areas
  • Maintain internal, manual, or computerized record-keeping systems
  • Operate forklift, hand truck, or other equipment to load, unload,transport and store goods.
  • Experience in a related clerical occupation or as a warehouse worker may berequired.
  • Strategically coordinate route plans and personnel to ensure on-time and efficient delivery.
  • Driving improvements through monitoring KPIs and planned vs. actual reviews.
  • Validating orders prior to delivery.
  • Maintaining accurate records and performing progress updates.
  • Developing team members to excel in their duties.
  • Engage with production teams to accommodate changing schedules
  • Assemble inventory or customer orders
  • Communicating delivery schedules and changes to customers and production
  • Assist production with order completion after 5 p.m.
  • May perform duties of the team being supervised.
Pay rate: $27 / hourRequirements:
  • Drivers license
  • 5 years driving experience
  • Able to load and unload truck
  • Positive attitude
  • Attention to detail
  • Verbal and written communication skills (English)
  • Self-motivated
