We will expect you to work for 35-40 hours a week for a minimum of 8 weeks (possibly 12-16).What you need to know before you apply…Vaccines: To protect the animals, senior volunteers and clients, applicants should be vaccinated for Covid (with boosters) and Tetanus vaccinations are mandatory, Proof of inoculation is required!!Working Dates and Times: Workdays and hours include weekends, evenings, and some overnight shifts. You may be called in on emergency situations.Successful Applicants will be expected to work all shifts, for a minimum of 8 weeks and although it is summer, you will be expected to work those 8 weeks without holidays.Allergies: Every Position deals directly with the animals. If you have allergies to animals, please make sure they are controlled before applying.Don’t have experience or much on your resume We will be hiring applicants we feel will most benefit from employment in the Shelter, with preference given to people who study in a relevant field or are interested in pursuing a career in the position.Dependability, willingness to learn, able to work all shifts, ability to work in a team, follow instructions, multitask and being adaptable/flexible are more important than prior experience and/or academic achievement. There are multiple positions and different requirements for each: Age requirements are in line with the Canadian Government and Canada Summer Jobs (15-30).
