Position: Teaching PrincipalLocation: Skownan SchoolStart Date: September 7, 2021FTE: 1.00 FTETerm of Employment: PermanentApplication Deadline: Friday, May 14, 2021Skownan School is a Nursery to Grade 9 facility of approximately 98 students, 10 teaching staff and 17support staff located in Skownan, approximately one and a half hours northeast of Dauphin.The successful candidate will be responsible for the administrative duties in the school and will teachGrade 7/8 Mathematics as well.Qualifications:Bachelor of Education degreeValid Manitoba Teacher’s Certificate (or eligibility for)Master’s Degree in Education/Administration and/or Certificate in School Leadership would be an assetAt least five years of teaching experience and five years of administrative experienceExcellent understanding of current Manitoba Curricula and differentiated instructionExperience with integrating Indigenous culture and land-based teaching into curriculumProficiency in a variety of computer applications in a network environment and experience with andunderstanding of school-based technologyAbility to work cooperatively and collaboratively with Division office staffExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to effectively communicate with parents and the community, and foster parental involvementAbility to work with teachers to promote and deliver inclusive schoolingPrevious success with the development and implementation of short and long-term school-based plansExperience leading innovative and alternative program delivery methods for studentsKeen ability to identify and creatively solve problemsCapacity to work in and respond to a demanding, fast-paced school environmentAbility to work in partnership with community agenciesApplicants are required to submit the following:
