Job Description

Job: Foodamp; Beverage Server Position Overview:A foodamp; beverage server works ensures every guest is looked after efficiently, courteously and in a friendly and professional manner in accordance with organizational standards. A server maintains a high level of integrity, service and hospitality at all times and is willing to take calculated risks to go above and beyond and provide exceptional guest experiences. This job could be full- or part-time, and could grow into a supervisory role for the right person.Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provides excellent customer service to ensure that every guest has a memorable experience.
  • Greets guests, enthusiastically representing Noir Food Service Ltd.’s brand, to provide service and information that helps to enhance the guest experience.
  • Provides organized and proactive service of food and beverage service to our guests, according to event details, or menu and daily features.
  • Continually seeks information about the menu, brand, wine and drink trends, and community events.
  • Encourages upselling of items, and processes discounts according to organizational policies.
  • Processes the sale of food and beverages via the Point-of-Sale system.
  • Accepts payments and reconciles daily cash outs and floats.
  • Assists in answering phones for reservations.
  • Stocks service supplies, including to go boxes, linens, paperwork, etc.
  • Assists in weekly inventory reviews for operational needs (coffee, wine, to-go boxes, etc.)
  • Polishes glassware and assists with washing dishes when needed.
  • Ensures washrooms are clean and adequate supplies are stocked throughout shift.
  • Ensures uniform is clean and appearance is professional, according to uniform guidelines.
  • Ensures responsible service of alcohol, according to BC’s Serving It Right guidelines.
  • For events: monitors buffet foods and cleanliness, sets up and tears down large events, and supports other guest functions such as coat check.
  • Performs other duties as directed by the leadership team.
The Ideal Candidate Is:
  • Experienced in participating in the delivery of events, ideally in a restaurant, banquet facility, winery or similar environment.
  • Dedicated to providing personalized and professional service to all guests, and to showcasing the local region and community offerings.
  • Able to withstand extended periods of standing, and other physically demanding conditions.
  • Able to operate in high pressure environment and remain calm and focused in urgent situations.
  • Able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as overtime from time to time.
  • Able to manage time efficiently.
  • Able to pay strong attention to detail.
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, aligning with dress code guidelines.
  • Able to read, write and communicate in an English working environment.
  • Holds a Serving it Right certification and ensures responsible service of alcohol.
  • Holds or is willing to work towards holding a First Aid, Level 1 certification.
