Sooke Harbour Resort & Marina and SookePoint Ocean Cottage Resort, proudly managed by True Key Hotels & Resorts.WHAT IT'S ABOUT!The Housekeeping Manager establishes workflows, standard procedures and quality control plans. Responsible for the maintenance of vendor/supplier relationship, organizing employee shifts, training and motivating team members and checking private and public areas for tidiness in a hands-on working role. Accepts ownership of organizational goals by exploring different opportunities to add value to the company.WHAT WILL YOU BE DOINGOperate the housekeeping department in accordance with policies, procedures, the annual plan and operating budget.Manage and schedule the day-to-day activities of the housekeeping team.Perform Room Attendant and/or Houseperson duties, regularlyReview housekeeping productivity from completed daily checklists, rewarding high achievers and identifying opportunities for improvementManage the lost and found program including charitable donationsPick up any debris and material laying around the property and common areas.Action any maintenance deficiencies by coordinating with Maintenance for prompt solution.Track replacement items installed in units and create Work Orders for billing.Accountable for adequate stock levels of all guest room products with correct inventory controlResolve short-supply from any back-ordered itemsInterview, hire, coach, inspire and train staff in accordance with training processes.IDEAL CANDIDATETwo years minimum Housekeeping experience with 1 year of leadership experience in a hotel setting or related industry is required. Resort experience is a strong asset.Post-secondary education in hospitality or related discipline preferredA working knowledge of hotel systems, specifically WebRez or RDP would be a strong benefitProficiency with computers systems required, such as Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel applicationsExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal as well as excellent problem-solving abilitiesStrong eye for detail and the ability to deliver and coach in the momentProven comfort and experience to interact effectively with all levels of managements, guests, associates, vendors and clientele, both inside and outside of the organizationPassionate towards cleaning and driving a team to deliver quality workReliable and responsible team player and dynamic leader capable to work with little supervisionHighly safety conscious work practices enforcing correct safety procedures/standards and ability to recognize and act in emergency situationsAbility to clean rooms, as needed while adhering to all departmental standards and environmentally sound practicesPhysical ability to work to bend, crouch, climb stairs and being in motion for prolonged periodsPhysical ability to carry or lift up to 50 poundsCandidates must be legally able to work in Canada to be considered
