Sooke Harbour Resort & Marina and SookePoint Ocean Cottage Resort, proudly managed by True Key Hotels & Resorts.Staff housing is available.We are seeking an permanent part-time Resort MaintenanceWHAT IT'S ABOUT!Are you good with your hands with the ability to proactively tackle any challenge that comes your way (aka. Jack-of-all trades) Our Maintenance team members work in the heart of the operation as they strive to elevate the guests lodging experience. Maintaining and troubleshooting repairs in a variety of equipment and parts in guest rooms, marina facilities and hot tubs. Operating primarily behind the scenes, you will service the internal team repair requests along with guest and owner interactions while ensuring prompt responses to repair requests.WHAT WILL YOU BE DOINGPerform maintenance to all guest areas such as repairing furniture, unclogging drains, changing light bulbs, replacing broken items, painting, caulking of tubs and showers, repair and replacement of bathroom fixtures.Daily service to hot tubs on site, including chemical testing and cleaningMaintain facilities on marina including woodwork, basic plumbing and electricalCoordinate and meet with our 3rd party vendors at our resorts. (Meeting with electricians, plumbers, and other technicians to let them in and walk them through work to be done)Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance on appliances and other itemsMaintain organization of supplies and operating equipment in storage such as tools, extra furniture/lamps, space heaters, fans etc. and fill out stock requisition counts as necessaryWHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOUExtensive Handyman experience to service and repair guestrooms, marina facilities and public areasCapable of operating hand, power and specialized toolsAbility to learn a wide variety of equipment and skills quicklyStrong eye for detail and the ability to deliver resultsAbility to complete minor equipment repairsFunctional familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word and Email programs.Must hold a current valid driver’s license, clear drivers abstract required annuallyAbility to operate company vehicles in a safe and responsible mannerGood physical condition, willing to and able to work indoors, outdoors and at heights in all weather conditions and able to lift up to 75 poundsAbility to document time activity detailing where and how much time and supplies were utilized on each projectAdhere to Sooke True Key Hotels Covid-19 Safety ProtocolsCandidates must be legally able to work in Canada to be consideredTrue Key Hotels & Resorts offers competitive employment packages for its team members, including health benefits, competitive wages, education allowance, employee discount programs on the job training and opportunities for advancement within the collection.
